Concerned about the skepticism towards science seen in politics in many parts of the world today, the HfP participated in the March for Science which took place in Munich on March 22. A group of 20 PhD students and international guests participating in a two day intensive colloquium on Environment, Climate, and Energy Politics being run by Dr. Christian Hagemann, Prof. Miranda Schreurs, and Prof. Stefan Wurster at the HfP decided to take time out of their own work to participate in the march. The participants in the March from the HfP came from a diverse range of countries: Germany, Israel, Japan, Macedonia, Mozambique, Taiwan and China. The participants agreed in the need to speak up to protect the interests of science, to speak out against fake news and to promote a respect for scientific knowledge in society.
