Research Interests
Our research encompasses comparative policy analyses and the comparative study of democratic and authoritarian regimes. We are interested in analyzing sustainability-oriented policies in Germany, the OECD, and other developing and industrialized countries, as well as the interaction between digital technologies, democracy, and authoritarianism. Our research includes, but is not limited to, the following themes:
- Regime type and sustainability
- Governance of emerging technologies
- Policy field analyses of economic, educational, research, environmental, and energy policies
- (New) forms of political governance and state control
- Digital authoritarian practices in democracies and dictatorships
- The regulation of digital technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence
- Public policy in times of crises – particularly COVID-19
- Comparative authoritarianism and legitimacy in authoritarian regimes
- National and international party competition
