Topic of the research internship

Benedikte Eiden has been completing a research internship at the Chair of Policy Analysis at the School of Public Policy of the Technical University of Munich since March 2021. The topic of her research is the public perception of artificial intelligence and the linkage of artificial intelligence with existing policy fields. The aim of the work is to map a good overall picture of the electorate regarding the preferred handling of artificial intelligence on the part of the parties by means of a representative survey. The focus is on the question in which political context Artificial Intelligence is considered and in which areas opportunities are rather seen and in which areas rather dangers.

Study and research interests

Since October 2019, Benedikte has been studying political science in the Bachelor's program at the Munich School of Public Policy. She is particularly interested in data analytics and Big Data, as well as international trade policy. In addition to her studies, she is also gaining practical experience as a student assistant at acatech - Deutsche Akademie der Technikwissenschaden.

Topic of the research internship

As part of her research internship, Preskal is analyzing the digital ecosystem and the implementation of policies related to Artificial Intelligence in the different policy fields in Egypt. In doing so, she is also primarily investigating the risks and potentials as well as driving factors and thematic priorities.

Study and research interests

Preskal Tadrous is an intern at the Chair of Policy Analysis at the School of Politics at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) since April 2021. She has been studying in the interdisciplinary Bachelor's program in Political Science at the Hochschule für Politik since October 2019. Her interests include digital governance, the intersection between artificial intelligence and individual policy fields, politics of authoritarian regimes, especially in the MENA region, and international political economy.

In addition to her studies, Preskal is an activist with ONE, an international movement working to end extreme poverty and preventable disease by 2030.

Topic of the research internship

As part of her research internship, Sariga Premanand supports the team in the project on the politics and governance of artificial intelligence. For example, she prepares national AI strategies, encodes policy instruments using qualitative content analysis and conducts extensive research.

Study and research interests

Sariga Premanand has been working as a research intern at the Professorship of Policy Analysis since November 2021.

She is currently completing her Masters in Politics & Technology at TUM. She is an Electronics and Communications Engineering graduate from India and is interested in the governance of emerging technologies, particularly AI governance and AI ethics.

She is interested in volunteering and was awarded the Best NSS Volunteer award by the President of India. She also represented India in the India-China Youth Delegation Program in 2017.
