* Many courses are offered at the Faculty of Social Sciences in the Bachelor's program "Data Science and Policy Studies". Exchange students are welcome to take courses from other disciplines that match their interests. The introductory courses for Bachelor students are numbered 1000 to 2999, the specialization courses 3000 to 4000, and the courses for Master students are numbered 5000 and higher. The following PDF file summarizes the courses that are not offered to exchange students: http://www.oal.cuhk.edu.hk/files/incoming/course_exceptions.pdf.
Master's students can choose the specialization subjects at Bachelor's level with the codes 3000 to 4999. Exchange students may also take the Master's courses. However, it is important to note that the availability of Master's courses is comparatively limited
Language certificates
- Proof of language proficiency in the language of instruction (English) is already mandatory when applying internally at the SOT-Governance and cannot be submitted later. The list of accepted language certificates can be found here
- Language certificates in the national language (Chinese) are optional if this is not the language of instruction (all certificates or certificates of attendance can be submitted here)
Important Information about Your Language Skills
At this stage, your language skills do not have to correspond to the level required for the application to the partner university. Please check the website of the partner university in good time to find out which language certificates are required: http://www.oal.cuhk.edu.hk/application/
Please estimate realistically whether you can achieve the language level required by the partner university (e.g. TOEFL score of 530 (paper-based), 197 (computer-based) or 71 (internet-based), or IELTS 6 or equivalent) by the external application deadline at the host university
Master's students do not need English language certificates, as the Master's program "Politics & Technology" is an English-language program. For the external application (stage 2), Master's students should contact Ms. Riembauer (ekaterina.riembauer(at)hfp.tum.de). She will issue you with the relevant certificate
Note: Exchange students do not have to pay any application fees at the CUHK. Other costs (e.g. administration fee, hostel fees, etc.) must be covered by you. You can find more information here: http://www.oal.cuhk.edu.hk/application/
