About the Program
With the Erasmus+ program and the Swiss European Mobility Program, you can study at partner faculties in other European countries. You receive financial support and pay no tuition fees locally.

Application
Next application round: December 1, 2025 to January 13, 2026 (12 noon CET) for a stay abroad in the winter term 2026/27 or the summer term 2027.
The application form “Application for Erasmus+ SMS, Switzerland, Double Degree and Departmental Program 2026/27” will be available from December 1, 2025.
Please apply directly via the online application portal.
Selection Criteria
The selection criteria of the TUM School of Social Science & Technology for the application for a study place within the framework of our European cooperations are as follows:
- Study progress and academic achievements
- Letter of motivation
- Language skills
- Intercultural competence
If necessary, selection interviews may take place.
Application Documents
As part of your application for a nomination for an Erasmus study place, we require the following documents and evidence:
- Current transcript from TUMonline
- Current curriculum vitae
- Indication of up to 4 preferred universities including prioritization information
- A letter of motivation in which you explain your motivation for studying at the desired partner university/universities (max. 2 pages)
- Proof of relevant language skills (language of instruction and national language)
- Study plans for all desired study locations (you can download the form here)
- Specification of the desired exchange period: winter or summer semester (exchange period is usually 1 semester)
- for Master's students additionally: Bachelor's certificate
Bachelor's and Master's students should submit their application in English.
Bachelor's students (full-time) may only apply from the 3rd semester onwards (please note the regulations in the FPSO §38 para. 2).
Bachelor's students (part-time) may only apply from the 4th semester onwards (please note the regulations in FPSO §50 para. 2)

Please note that you must receive a grade for each course at the partner university if you wish to have the courses recognized for your degree program. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to recognize courses that are only graded as passed.
