Today, we celebrated 180 bright minds from 35 countries who graduated in 2024/25 from the Munich School of Politics & Public Policy—individuals who, over the past years, have become a community of thinkers, creators and innovators at the intersection of politics and technology.
In front of proud families, friends and faculty, HfP Rector Prof. Urs Gasser opened the evening with heartfelt words, celebrating not just achievement, but the spirit of bridge-building, creativity and lifelong learning that defines our graduates. In a world shaken by turbulence and polarization, he urged them to lean into their HfP-honed strengths—dialogue, curiosity and the courage to listen: “Be ready to embrace the impact that you will create!”
Echoing this call, Prof. Gerhard Müller, Senior Vice President of the Technical University of Munich
for Academic and Student Affairs, praised the power of young minds to bring fresh ideas to a world caught between disruption and continuity.
We were honored to welcome Prof. Anne Rademacher (Chair of Sustainable Urban Environments at the Technical University of Munich), who in her Commencement Speech invited us on a powerful journey into the meaning of names, belonging and courageous thought. In a world marked by uncertainty and upheaval, she reminded us that knowing each other—truly by name—is a radical act of community and hope, grounded in honest dialogue, fearless thinking and the profound, unquantifiable value of seeing each individual as unique and whole. “We are our names,” she said, and in honoring those names, we embrace both the beautiful unknown of the present and the shared courage to face fear together.
Hannah Meyer and Barbara Diaz Carneiro, our graduate speakers, captured the HfP journey with honesty and heart. Through challenges, growth and resilience—from campus confusion to cold winters—with curiosity, confidence and community, they have found their voices and opened doors to the future.
Cheers to our graduates & to their future! To put it in Anne Rademacher’s words:
“Thrive beyond this place: Rise beyond the face of fear.”
A huge thank you to Marcio Schuster for the joyful music, Akihiro Tokumura for capturing the spirit of the evening in photos and our amazing student helpers! 🥂
