Career Paths in the media

This semester, the Bavarian School of Public Policy at the Technical University of Munich is continuing its lecture series "Career Paths". Dr. Jeanne Rubner, head of the trimedial editorial office "Wissen und Bildung aktuell" at Bayerischer Rundfunk, spoke as a guest speaker about the future of science journalism. In her contribution, Dr. Rubner pointed out that the users mainly want original content, exclusive stories and explanatory pieces and that they want to do so as parallel as possible on all available platforms.

"Science topics are up to date and political, and science journalism is more than just the translation of knowledge," said Rubner. The relationship between science and the media is changing and needs good knowledge transfer and, above all, evidence-based arguments for an enlightened discourse.
