The Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for the position of

Tenure Track Assistant Professor in »Public Engagement in Science and Technology«

to begin in winter semester 2018/19. The position is a W2 fixed-term position (6 years) with tenure track option to a tenured W3 position (Associate Professor).

The professorship belongs to the TUM School of Governance (GOV) as well as to the Integrative Research Center (IRC) Munich Center for Technology in Society (MCTS). The MCTS represents a cross-faculty research center interested in the interdependencies between science, technology and society. The MCTS is dedicated to the transdisciplinary field of Science and Technology Studies, and, from a reflexive perspective, focuses on the roles of technologies, technological sciences and technical universities. The TUM GOV focuses its research and teaching on the interaction between politics, society and technology, for instance to integrate future technologies into the political dialogue and decision-making.

With a joint appointment at the TUM School of Governance and the Munich Center for Technology in Society, this professorship is a significant addition to the TUM's strategy to strengthen the interdisciplinary cooperation of natural and engineering sciences with a technology-oriented social and political science approach at the MCTS and the Bavarian School of Public Policy (HfP).
