Nikolay Lunchenkov expert at conference „Chemsex Support Hub Barcelona 2025”

The European conference on care, connection and harm reduction, organized by ONG Stop was helt from October 23-24 2025. It brought together chemsex users, healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers to generate shared knowledge and co-create strategies addressing the needs of the community.

Nikolay contributed his expertise to the Research Working Group on Thursday, October 23rd, where he presented his latest findings from research conducted in Kazakhstan, offering valuable insights from the Central Asian context. He participated alongside other international researchers including Kristian Møller (Independent Researcher, Copenhagen), and Cinta Folch (CEEISCAT, Catalonia). The working group focused on collectively building transformative research responses based on rights, autonomy, and lived experience.

The conference took place at the Centre LGTBI de Barcelona (at Carrer del Comte Borrell, 22) and was livestreamed on ONG Stop’s YouTube channel (@stoponglgtbi), making it accessible to a global audience.

This groundbreaking conference was notable for being created by chemsex users themselves, fostering leadership within the community and promoting intersectoral collaboration grounded in harm reduction and rights-based approaches.
