Professorship for Global Health
Welcome
The Professorship for Global Health adopts a social science lens to examine health and wellbeing, with a particular focus on countries in the Global South. Research at the professorship is highly interdisciplinary, drawing primarily from the fields of global and public health as well as international development and development economics.
Key research themes include gender-based violence, gender disparities in health and development, the evaluation of interventions aimed at improving health, empowering women, and alleviating poverty, as well as behavioral insights into health and development challenges. Our work aligns closely with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 3, which promotes “Good Health and Wellbeing”, and SDG 5, which addresses “Gender Equality".
The professorship employs a diverse array of research methodologies, including randomised controlled trials, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, survey experiments, and mixed-methods approaches.
