On November 18, 2018 a delegation from the United States Congress visited the Hochschule für Politik München for a briefing on the German energy transition. The delegation included Democratic Congressman Lloyd Doggett, who represents Texas’ 35th District, Michael Mocchetti, Chief of Staff to Congressman Doggett, and Liana Guerra, member of the staff of Congressman Darren Soto (Florida’s 9th District). The delegation spent two days in Munich before travelling to Berlin for further meetings. Professor Miranda Schreurs met with the delegation in order to discuss progress and obstacles in the German energy transition and to consider avenues to deepen trans-Atlantic cooperation. Professor Esook Yoon, former Provost of Kwangwoon University in Seoul, Korea, who is a visiting professor at the HfP also attended the meeting.
