In the latest university ranking by the Center for Higher Education (CHE), the Hochschule für Politik München (HfP) belongs to the top group in the discipline of "Political Science". In just a short time, the HfP, with its new transdisciplinary and application-oriented research approach "Bringing Politics and Technology Together", has thus become one of the best political science institutions in the German-speaking world. The academic expertise in research and teaching is diversified and, according to the current ranking, impresses the students of the HfP. In addition to the classic study subjects of political science, the impact of technological developments, e.g. in the areas of energy, environment, climate change, European and global governance, global health, digital governance, big data, data security, as well as mobility, are taught through an outstanding range of courses. This is complemented by an excellent study environment and individual support and counseling for students. Prof. Dr. Eugénia da Conceição-Heldt, Reform Rector of the HfP, points out, "Together, we can be proud of the HfP's development so far. The excellent performance of our university in the CHE Ranking 2021 shows that we have succeeded in repositioning the HfP in regard to academic focus at the intersection between politics and technology. This is an important landmark in the development of our school. This success is complemented by the acquisition of competitive interdisciplinary third-party funding projects at national, European and international level. The HfP's international visibility is completed by publications in the best peer-reviewed journals (such as American Political Science Review, Review of International Organizations, British Journal of Political Science, and Review of International Political Economy)." Detailed results of the 2021 CHE rankings can be found here.

The CHE University Ranking is the most comprehensive and detailed ranking of German universities and universities of applied sciences. It covers more than 30 subjects and thus addresses more than three quarters of all first-year students. In addition to facts about studies, teaching, equipment and research, the ranking includes students' assessments of the study conditions at their university and, for some subjects, the reputation of the departments among professors. In addition to comparative criteria, prospective students also have access to a wealth of descriptive features on studying and teaching. The results are available on the Internet at https://ranking.zeit.de and in the print edition of the ZEIT study guide.
