Current information about teaching in the Summer Semester 2020

News, PAGE:TUMvCard-hfp |

Dear students,

We hope you are all safe and well. Welcome to Summer semester 2020! As you are certainly well aware, the world has changed remarkably as a result of the COVID-19
pandemic. The Summer term will begin regularly on April 20 and the lecture period will be extended to August 7, 2020.

It will be an online semester without classroom teaching. We are learning to be flexible in order to adapt to the current circumstances. On-screen teaching differs significantly from classroom teaching. While we are aware that the didactics for online teaching are challenging, we also see this as an enormous chance for us all to integrate new innovative online formats into our teaching. All of our professors and lecturers are currently working on transforming their classes for online teaching. You will find the information about each of your courses and how each instructor is planning to offer his or her classes on Moodle. Here you will find information about readings, homework assignments, and examinations. Depending on class size and the nature of the course material, some classes will have pre-recorded videos. Others will make use of interactive video conferencing. You may also have great ideas to share with your instructors on how to make the most of this new educational experience.

We recognize that this may raise many questions for you. We will do our best to provide general information for everyone on the website for the HfP/GOV, but if you have specific questions, feel free to send them to us by emailing hedi.schmid@hfp.tum.de or if it is specific to a class, by contacting your instructor. The president of the University, Prof. Dr. Thomas Hofmann, has also sent you all a personal email with detailed information and links to relevant information pages:

We are very much looking forward to being with you this semester and offering you a wide range of exciting courses.
