Vellah ist Postdoktorandin am Lehrstuhl für Internationale Beziehungen und Friedrich Schiedel Fellow des TUM Think Tank an der Technischen Universität München. Außerdem ist sie Associate Research Fellow am Digital Futures at Work Research Centre, University of Sussex. Sie hat einen Bachelor of Law (LLB) und einen Master of Law (LLM) von der University of Nairobi, Kenia, und ein Postgraduierten-Diplom in Jura von der Kenya School of Law sowie einen PhD von der Technischen Universität München.
Vellahs Forschungsinteressen konzentrieren sich auf Regulierungspolitik im Globalen Norden und Globalen Süden aus einer vergleichenden Perspektive, um die Annahme und den Wandel politischer Maßnahmen zu unterstützen. Ihre Projekte konzentrieren sich auf Wettbewerbspolitik, regionale Integration, künstliche Intelligenz, Datenschutz und Plattform-Governance in Afrika und der Europäischen Union.
