Titel der Dissertation: Understanding the Development of the Emissions Trading Scheme in China: Market-Based Mechanism for Climate Governance
Yun Cao is a doctoral student in the School of Governance at the Technical University of Munich. Her research interests include the climate, energy and environmental policies.
In her doctoral dissertation, she focuses on the analysis of program design features and implementation of the local ETS pilots in China. By comparing the performance heterogeneity of different ETS pilots in China and identifying the development pathway from the pilot phase to the national scheme, this research project contributes to the academic debate on the transition of the governance approach from the traditional command-and-control (CAC) to more market-based instruments (MBI) in the area of climate governance.
Beside her doctoral studies, Yun works for the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin) as the Program Coordinator of the Graduate Center. She holds an M.A. degree in British Studies with a focus on economy, politics and law from the Humboldt University of Berlin and a B.A. in English from the South China University of Technology. In 2017, She's a visiting scholar at the Peking University.
