Luise Koch received an invitation to give an expert talk about the topic “Microaggressions online: a threat to diversity and representation” at the annual Diversity Day of the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt. The Diversity Day is aimed at raising awareness about discriminatory practices that might have happened in and around the institution, and to empower the participants. Luise’s presentation contributed to the overarching theme by shedding light on the shift of violence from the offline to the online world, in which harassment and discrimination can take place. She presented her research on online violence against women.

Luise Koch works on technology-facilitated gender-based violence in the scope of her doctoral project. The research is part of the research project "Understanding, Detecting, and Mitigating Online Misogyny against Politically Active Women", funded by the Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation (bidt).
