Resumé
Michael Krug holds a diploma degree in Administration Science. In September 2023 he started to work as a researcher at the Chair of Environmental and Climate Policy at the HfP/TUM. He is currently conducting research in the KOPERNIKUS project ARIADNE II Evidence-based Assessment for the Design of the German Energy Transition. Within the ARIADNE II project, TUM's research includes a policy analysis addressing the distributional effects of climate policy and questions of social ownership.
Michael Krug's research interests include the analysis of energy and climate policy, politics and governance of the energy transition, as well as sustainability and social issues of the energy transition (e.g., acceptance, participation, energy communities, Just Transition and Decent Work).
Until June 2023, Michael Krug was a researcher at the Research Center for Sustainability at Freie Universität Berlin. Together with Dr Rosaria Di Nucci, he coordinated the EU-funded Horizon 2020 projects COME RES on renewable energy communities (2020-2023) and WinWind on the social acceptance of wind energy (2018-2020). Before that, he was engaged in various national and international research projects. The latter include the Norwegian-German research project ENABLE (2020-2023) and the EU INTERREG projects Bioenergy Promotion 1 and 2 (2009-2014), MunEM Sustainable energy management at municipal level (2007-2009) and REGENERGY - Network of pioneering regions and communities working on innovative heat energy solutions (2005-2007). From 2007 to 2009 he worked for Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH as a task officer (energy & climate change).
