Student Research Assistant (f/m/x) at the Professorship of Global Security and Technology

The Professorship for Global Security and Technology (TUM School of Social Sciences and Technology) is looking to hire a student research assistant (f/m/x) for up to 8h/week, starting as soon as possible. The position offers insights into the everyday operations of a university and the research of Prof. Dr. Katrin Paula (e.g., political mobilization, political violence, attitudes towards human rights, protest diffusion, quantitative methods).

Qualifications

  • Good German and English skills, both oral and written

  • Excellent software skills (especially in R, Stata, LaTex, Microsoft Office) and/or the willingness to acquire these skills

  • Strong interest in social science research

  • Very good knowledge of, and interest in, empirical methods of social sciences and statistics

  • Ability to work independently, accurately, and in a structured manner

  • Quick understanding and reliability

  • Good team and communication skills

Tasks

  • Working with research data (e.g., coding, compiling, processing, visualization)

  • Literature research

  • Assisting the professorship in preparing and organizing teaching

  • General support of the professorship
