Die Professur für Politische Ökonomie beschäftigt sich mit dem Zusammenspiel von Politik und Wirtschaft. Wir untersuchen, wie Ideen und Institutionen ebenso wie Politik und Macht wirtschaftliche Prozesse prägen und von ihnen geprägt werden—mit einem besonderen Fokus auf den Ursachen und Folgen technologischen Wandels. Wir wollen verstehen, wie politische und ökonomische Macht, geopolitische und verteilungspolitische Konflikte sowie institutionelle Pfadabhängigkeiten und einflussreiche Ideen beeinflussen, welche Technologien wie entwickelt und eingesetzt werden—und wie dies wiederum Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft formt.
