Shira Bukchin is a PhD candidate in the Department of Public Policy, at Tel Aviv University. She holds a B.Sc. in Biology, and an M.A. in Public Policy, both from Tel Aviv University. Her research focuses on the role of personal resources in adoption of sustainable technology. Under the framework of Positive Sustainability, she studies the relationships between the theoretical and practical assumptions of sustainability, environmental policy and positive psychology. Shira has long standing interest in technological choices and environmental behavior. Besides her current work she has taken part in agricultural and rural development projects in Nepal and Ethiopia, where she studied small scale agriculture and the choices farmers make.
