Ph.D. Title: Environmental cooperation for peacemaking: A comparative case study analysis Germany and Korea

Sehee Jung is a doctoral student in the School of Governance at the Technical University of Munich. Her research interests include the integration, cooperation, trust-building, post-conflict, post-unification.

In her doctoral dissertation, she focuses on the environmental cooperation as a tool of the environmental peacemaking. This research examines what has caused the environmental cooperation, despite conflicts between West versus East Germany/ South versus North Korea. In addition, she tries to answer the question: what is making the environmental cooperation successful or failed?

An integrated framework of analysis of the national level (East Germany versus West Germany, North Korea versus South Korea), regional level (European, Northeast Asian), and the global level policies will be analyzed.

Sehee Jung received a Master’s degree in North Korean Studies from department of development and cooperation for North Korea, Chung-Ang University in Seoul, Korea. She worked as a research associate at the Korea Institute for National Unification (KINU) and she has done some national project which offered by Ministry of Unification in Korea in charge of general affairs, research assistant as well.
