Forschungsgebiete

Dr. Tobias Schillings ist Postdoktorand im Exzellenzcluster TransforM an der Technischen Universität München und arbeitet an der Schnittstelle der Professur für Global Health und dem Lehrstuhl für Internationale Beziehungen. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen im Bereich der Politischen Ökonomie, Public Policy und Entwicklungsökonomik. Er untersucht, wie Institutionen und technologischer Wandel Ungleichheit, öffentliche Meinung und Legitimität in Gesundheitssystemen weltweit prägen. Methodisch verbindet er international vergleichende Analysen mit experimentellen Ansätzen und hat eigene globale Datensätze zu universeller Gesundheitsversorgung, Gesundheitsreformen und digitaler Inklusion entwickelt.

Wissenschaftliche Laufbahn

Tobias promovierte in International Development an der University of Oxford, wo er weiterhin als Research Associate affiliiert ist. Zudem absolvierte er einen MPhil in Economics an der University of Oxford sowie einen BSc in Volkswirtschaftslehre an der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität Münster. Neben seiner akademischen Laufbahn war er umfassend als Berater für internationale Organisationen und politiknahe Institutionen tätig, darunter für UNDP, UNCDF, Chatham House und das britische Department for International Development.
