Dr. Martin Oppelt, University Professor


Dr. Martin Oppelt is a post-doc working research fellow at the Bavarian School of Public Policy. Since October 2019 he is representing the Professorship for Political Philosophy and Theory. His field of research is Political Theory and the History of Political Ideas, (Radical) Democratic Theory and the meaning of treason in democratic thinking. From 2009 - 2017 Martin Oppelt was working as a research assistant at the chair for Political Science/ Political Theory at Augsburg University, Germany, where he completed his doctorate with a dissertation on Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Claude Lefort and radical democracy. Beforehand he studied Political Science, History and Recent German Literature at Erlangen, Regensburg and Istanbul.
