Founding Initiative Nexus Politics

The founding initiative Nexus Politics by Dr. Magnus Strobel and Christoph Waffler is supported as part of the EXIST Business Start-Up Grant by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and the European Social Fund Plus (ESF Plus). The Chair of Policy Analysis provides academic support for the project.
Project Description
This initiative is a practical collaboration with Nexus Politics (www.nexuspolitics.org), an AI-powered platform for politics aimed at countering growing dissatisfaction with democratic processes. The platform’s goal is to strengthen citizen participation and improve political representation. Citizens are given the opportunity to express their opinions digitally, which are then analyzed using artificial intelligence and transformed into actionable insights for political decision-makers. Additionally, the platform offers political actors a modern CRM system that promotes transparency, communication, and accountability. In this way, the project seeks to make a significant contribution to strengthening democracy in the digital age.
The collaboration aims to provide academic support for the start-up and systematically analyze the data generated on the platform. The analysis will focus on questions such as how political issues and opinions spread over time, geographically, and across different socioeconomic groups. Furthermore, the project will explore the extent to which so-called mini-publics are suitable as an effective tool for representative and results-oriented citizen participation.
