In a festive event with guests from Germany and abroad, the community welcomed Prof. Urs Gasser as the new Rector of the Hochschule für Politik (HfP) and celebrated the achievements of Reform Rector Prof. da Conceição-Heldt.
Urs Gasser, previously leading for more than a decade an influential research center at Harvard University, joined the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in the fall of 2021 as Professor of Public Policy, Governance, and Innovative Technology. In addition to his appointment at HfP, he also serves as the Dean of the new TUM School of Social Science and Technology, which was recently launched on the premises of the HfP (coverage here).
Colleagues from politics, science, and society paid tribute to the achievements of Prof. da Conceição-Heldt. Under her leadership, HfP developed into one of the leading political science institutes in the German-speaking world with a transdisciplinary and application-oriented research approach under the header "Bringing Politics and Technology Together".
