What can artificial intelligence do, and what does it mean for our daily lives? The possibilities are vast, ranging from language models like ChatGPT and AI-generated art to special effects in movies. More than 30 female students visited the TUM Think Tank at the Munich School of Politics and gained insights into practical AI applications through three workshops hosted by the EdTech Center.
At three different stations, participants—guided by experts—tested AI applications in action. They embarked on a virtual, immersive puzzle adventure in a space station, created their own AI-generated artwork, and brought characters in video and film to life using AI.
Girls' Day at the TUM Think Tank of HfP makes the world of AI tangible for girls and contributes to increasing the proportion of women in academic fields that have traditionally been male-dominated.
The Bachelor's program Politikwissenschaft at the HfP combines classical political science with technology. In addition to political science courses, students can choose from a broad range of technological subjects, including AI, energy, mobility, and more, allowing them to develop their own individual academic profiles. Numerous practical elements, along with an integrated internship semester, provide a direct connection to real-world sociopolitical challenges.
The TUM EdTech Center at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) develops, researches, and evaluates cutting-edge educational technologies. Since its founding in 2023, the center has been driving innovations in digital education and setting new standards for future-oriented learning. Its goal is to showcase TUM’s innovative strength in education on a global scale and to create sustainable solutions for the future of learning.
On Girls’ Day, companies, universities, and research institutions across Germany invite female students from grade 5 and up to help them explore career and study opportunities. The focus is on fields where women have been historically underrepresented.
