The Evolution of International Regime Complexes
This research project focuses on the evolution of international regime complexes, exploring how and why these complexes change, evolve, or persist over time, and examining their consequences. It encourages a variety of methodological approaches, including both qualitative and quantitative analyses, to investigate the internal and external factors driving change. The project aims to move beyond studying the origins of regime complexity to understand how these complexes evolve—whether in adaptive, resilient, or dysfunctional ways—and their influence on cooperation outcomes in international relations.
