Resumé
Research Areas
Dr Tobias Schillings is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the TransforM Cluster at the Technical University of Munich, affiliated with the Professorship of Global Health and the Chair of International Relations. His research lies at the intersection of political economy, public policy, and development economics. He studies how institutions and technological change shape inequality, public opinion, and legitimacy in health systems around the world. Methodologically, he combines comparative cross-national analyses with experimental approaches and has developed original global datasets on healthcare universalism, health system reform, and digital inclusion.
Academic Career
Tobias obtained his DPhil (PhD) in International Development from the University of Oxford, where he remains a Research Associate. He also holds an MPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford and a BSc in Economics from the University of Münster. Beyond academia, Tobias has consulted extensively for international organisations and policy institutions, including UNDP, UNCDF, Chatham House, and the UK Department for International Development.
