Shruti Shukla awarded with Marianne-Plehn Program of the Elite Network of Bavaria and the German Academic Scholarship Foundation

Shruti Shukla is a scholarship holder of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation funding her doctoral studies. Now, she additionally became a member of the Marianne-Plehn-Program. It supports outstanding young scientists during their doctoral studies within the German Academic Scholarship Foundation. This unique program combines the scholar­ship with a part-time employment of 25% funded by the Elite Network of Bavaria, at any university in Bavaria. As a member of the Elite Network of Bavaria, she benefits from various offers and activities within its interdisciplinary excellence program.

Shruti Shuklas areas of interest include gender related health inequities, gender-based violence and women empowerment. Presently, her research focuses on the intersections between empowerment strategies, gender norms and maternal health outcomes.
In addition to her studies, she works as a research associate on the ERC-Starting Grant-project "Predictors and consequences of intimate partner violence: a mixed methods longitudinal study in Tanzania" at the Research Unit Public Health Evaluation at the Ludwig Maximilians Universität München.
