Shruti Shukla starts her PhD candidate at the Professorship for Global Health at TUM School of Social Sciences and Technology on July 1st. In addition to her current position she has been working as a research associate on the COV-CSRD project since September 2021. Before joining the team, she was placed at the Chair of Sociology of Diversity at TUM Department of Sport and Health Sciences where she taught courses on Global Health, Health Promotion and Health & Society.

Her areas of interest include gender related health inequities, gender-based violence and women empowerment. Presently, her research focuses on the intersections between empowerment strategies, gender norms and maternal health outcomes.
