Sanad Al-Quran

Sanad Al-Quran is a doctoral candidate in the School of Governance at the Technical University of Munich. His research interests include energy and climate politics. He has a keen interest in the intersection of politics, energy, and climate. His research focuses on the analysis of energy transition policy dynamics. His work seeks to provide scientific insights into regulatory frameworks, market mechanisms, and policy-driven energy transformations that align with global climate targets.
Sanad’s academic foundation bridges engineering, political science, sustainability, and technology. He holds a Master’s degree in Politics and Technology from TUM, where he specialized in energy and climate policy, governance, and sustainability. His thesis, The Transition to a Sustainable Future - Interactions between Policymakers and Investors, is centered on the relationship between investment flows into renewable energy and low-carbon technologies and the influence of policy instruments. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Water and Environmental Engineering from the German Jordanian University, where his research examined climate adaptation strategies and hydrological systems for sustainable urban planning.
Sanad has been awarded multiple scholarships, including those from Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Beyond academia, he has worked for several years in the fields of renewable energy, engineering, and the NGO sector.
By combining scientific research, policy analysis, and industry expertise, Sanad aims to contribute to the global shift toward clean energy systems, resilient energy markets, and long-term climate neutrality.
