Madeleine Zwirello is a graduate student from Carleton University studying in the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies. She is from Boston, USA and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada in 2017. This summer she will be part of the Jean Monnet Network in EU-Canada Relations internship at the Technical University of Munich. The Jean Monet Network on EU-Canada Relations allows students from both Canada and the EU to study and intern in partner universities, providing opportunities and exposure to experts. At Carleton University, Madeleine is studying environmental non-governmental organizations in the EU, with a particular focus on ENGOs in Poland. Her area of study complements the research conducted at TU Munich in the topics of climate change and environmental policy. The EU-Canada internship will give her the opportunity to gain a unique perspective on the environmental policies which interest her. It also allows her to study the European Union and its member states in an immersive 2-month internship in beautiful Munich!
