Dr. Florentine Koppenborg joined a project on “Mechanisms of International Cooperation in East Asia” funded by the Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI) in Japan. The project examines how advanced countries and regions such as Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan can cooperate with one another and with emerging Asian nations and regions such as ASEAN and India. By integrating area studies, research on international institutions, and analysis of international negotiations, it aims to propose a cooperative model that spans three domains: economy, security, and environment. The Principal Investigator is Prof. Takashi Hattori (Kyoto University, Japan).
