Aslı Koçak is interested in a wide range of topics around how science and technology interact with governance, political systems, and decision-making. Her research interests include the role of language and media in these processes, as well as interdisciplinary and computational social science approaches to studying them.

Aslı grew up in Istanbul, Turkey. She moved to the USA to pursue her bachelor's at Tufts University, where she studied a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and did a co-major in Science and Technology Studies. She took part in a variety of projects at Tufts, from teaching introductory coding to working on interdisciplinary research projects on human-computer interaction.

Aslı is currently a master's student in the Data & Society program at the Munich School of Politics and Public Policy at TUM. She is also working as a research assistant under the Professorship for Algorithmic Governance and Public Policy.
