HfP Advisory Board

The HfP Advisory Board consists of a total of 20 members:

  • ten members of the Senate of the Munich School of Politics and Public Policy

  • one member from each of the parliamentary groups in the Bavarian State Parliament; in addition, there is one additional member from each of the parliamentary groups with more than 50 representatives

  • the President of the Technical University of Munich (if necessary represented by its Chancellor) 

  • further personalities from science, culture, economy and professional practice.

In agreement with the President of the Technical University of Munich, the HfP Advisory Board decides on amendments to the Basic Rules, elects the Rector on the proposal of the President of the Technical University of Munich and appoints the Administrative Director in agreement with the Chancellor of the Technical University of Munich. Furthermore, in agreement with the President of the Technical University of Munich, it decides on the establishment, modification and discontinuation of study programs, the budget and staffing plan, and the statement of accounts.

Senate

Senate

The Senate consists of a total of 11 members of the Munich School of Politics and Public Policy:

  • six representatives of the professors

  • one representative of the scientific staff 

  • one representative of the non-scientific employees 

  • two representatives of the students

  • one representative of the women's representative

The members of the Senate are elected by the members of the Munich School of Politics and Public Policy. The Senate adopts the legal regulations to be issued by the Munich School of Politics and Public Policy with the exception of the Basic Rules. In accordance with the Examination Regulations issued by the Technical University of Munich, it deliberates on the range of courses offered and ensures this in cooperation with the Rector. In addition, it decides on other fundamental matters as well as on matters for which another body is not responsible.

Rector

Prof. Dr. Urs Gasser has been Rector of the Munich School of Politics and Public Policy since 01 October 2021.

He manages and represents the Munich School of Politics and Public Policy in accordance with the legal basis. He represents the Munich School of Politics and Public Policy in the establishment of employment relationships with academic staff, submits proposals for amendments to the statutes and, applies the Bavarian Higher Education Innovation Act and exercises all the powers of the Munich School of Politics and Public Policy management described therein. Resolutions of the Senate on statutes require his consent.

The Rector shall be appointed by the HfP Advisory Board after consultation with the other bodies of the Munich School of Politics and Public Policy and in agreement with the President of the Technical University of Munich.

Administrative Director

Dipl.-Verw.Wiss. Dorothea Wörner has been the administrative director of the Munich School of Politics and Public Policy since November 15, 2021. 

She is in charge of the administration of the Munich School of Politics and Public Policy and is authorized for the budget in the sense of the budgetary regulations. She is also the supervisor of the non-academic staff of the Munich School of Politics and Public Policy.

The Administrative Director is appointed by the HfP Advisory Board in agreement with the Chancellor of the Technical University of Munich on the recommendation of the Rector.
